Back in February we introduced you to past client, Katie who is taking on the challenge of a lifetime, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Hope for Children.
Katie has been keeping us up to date with her training and fundraising and we received her latest update today:
Hi there
It’s just over 4 months until I take on Mt. Kilimanjaro in aid of Hope for Children and preparation, excitement and fundraising are in full swing!
Cycle SOS helped me out massively by sponsoring me for my event but I’m still continuing to fundraise and have been fairly busy over the last few months to get as close to my £3000 fundraising goal as possible and help out the amazing charity as much as I can.
In February I held a student night at a local club here in Southampton which went really well – it was a great night and raised lots of money for Hope.I have also taken to the streets of Andover, London and Salisbury and been overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity in response to my bucket shaking! A couple of local supermarket bag packs also boosted the funds.
A couple of weeks ago I ran the Worcester Half Marathon with my family. It was a lovely sunny day and although difficult was a great and enjoyable run. Good training for Kili too!
And finally, I’m still going to be cycling the Walney to Wear and Whitby, coast to coast route this summer which I’m really looking forward to. Dad test drove the route in March, amazingly completing the ride in under a day!
