Do Cyclist Have To Ride In Single File?
Cyclists in the UK don’t have to ride in single file but can never ride more than two abreast. Riding in a single file is recommended when a car driver wants to overtake and it is safe for them to do so. It can sometimes be safer for cyclists as riding two abreast down narrow lanes can discourage car drivers from dangerously overtaking. It should be noted that cyclists should not have to ride in single file because a car driver wants to overtake and that only when the group cyclists consider the overtaking to be safe would they ride in single file.
