According to the National Road Traffic Census, 16,884 bicycle accidents were reported in 2019. Of those casualties, 100 were killed, 4,121 experienced serious injuries, and 12,663 experienced slight injuries. It should be noted though that many non-fatal bicycle accidents are not reported to the police, and so the casualty figures may be higher.
