Mr. Wolff was hospitalised as a result of his bicycle hitting a pothole in the road during a charity cycling event. He was thrown over the handle bars of his bicycle, landing roughly 15 to 20 feet along the road. Mr. Wolff suffered a fracture to his left leg, an injury to his left shoulder along with various cuts and bruises. Surgery was required, and he was kept in hospital for 10 days.
Upon release from hospital, Mr. Wolff required physiotherapy for his shoulder, and as a result he was unable to care for his wife. Paul Darlington from Cycle SOS won the case, and an excess of £19,500 compensation was awarded to Mr. Wolff.
